On 7 and 8 March 2011, a group of innovative companies, active in the mobile industry, visited the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area to participate in the iCE Amsterdam Conference and to explore the many opportunities the area has to offer their industry.
Amsterdam inbusiness invited these companies to investigate whether Amsterdam and the Netherlands could serve as a potential sales, testing or development market for their innovative mobile products and services.
Companies from numerous countries including Sweden and Greece responded to the invitation. Participating in a one-day fact-finding trip, they enjoyed various presentations and visits to relevant businesses, such as renowned television production company Endemol.
During the second day, the delegation visited the iCE Amsterdam Conference at Westergasfabriek, focusing on strategic aspects of the mobile technology business; in particular the development of applications for smartphones, the iPad and other emerging tablet PC hardware.
The event also included conference sessions, boot camps, training camps, social dinners and the Appsterdam Mobile Party, providing professional participants from the mobile industry ample opportunity to learn, network and inspire each other.
