Social network website Facebook has officially announced the opening of their Amsterdam office. They follow the lead of social media companies LinkedIn and Hyves, who both already have offices in the city.
The social networking site Facebook is rapidly growing in the Benelux (Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg) and will open a sales office in the centre of Amsterdam. The new office will employ four people with room to expand.
Facebook positions themselves closer to major European companies such as Heineken and Adidas with the opening of its Amsterdam base. Proximity to important companies that advertise on Facebook was a key consideration in coming to the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area.
