Amsterdam Hotel Development manual launched

The City of Amsterdam has produced a manual for the development of hotels in the city. The manual is targeted towards international investors and hotel operators.

How to develop a hotel in Amsterdam

The manual (PDF) entitled ‘How to develop a hotel in Amsterdam’ was presented to the public during the International Hotel Investment Forum in Berlin on 8 March 2010. Since then, many interested parties have ordered the publication.

The goal of the manual is to make it easier for foreign parties to set up a hotel in Amsterdam. The city also aims to attract more hotel initiatives.

Meeting a growing demand

Tulip Inn Amsterdam

Demand for hotel rooms in Amsterdam is expected to increase by 4% per year in the foreseeable future. The City of Amsterdam is rising to the challenge by planning for thousands new hotel rooms to be completed before 2015. The new rooms will be available in all categories; from one to five stars.

In 2009, Amsterdam welcomed several new hotels such as the Westcord Fashion Hotel and Zuiver Hotel. This year, Hotel Casa 400 and the Eden Parc Hotel plan to open.

Business opportunities

Amsterdam welcomes new hotel initiatives of every kind. We’d like to hear your ideas. In return, our new Hotel Development Intermediary can tell you about the latest opportunities and possibilities in the city’s flourishing hospitality sector.
