SWIFT community converges

The Sibos conference draws the SWIFT community together to discuss topics that matter the most in business and across functions and regions. The annual Sibos conference takes place in different cities in the world. Sibos was held in Hong Kong, Copenhagen and Sidney in past years. SWIFT has chosen Amsterdam for the 2010 conference -- one of the major financial centres in Europe.

Meeting place for international elite

Sibos attracts the international elite of the financial industry from all over the world. Most of the attendees work at large financial institutions such as Citigroup, Barclays, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, Deutsche Bank, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation and Indian Banks’ Association. However, companies that provide specialised services to financial institutions will be represented there as well.

Warm welcome

amsterdam inbusiness and the Holland Financial Centre are pleased with the venue chosen for Sibos 2010. Amsterdam and the Holland Financial Centre will set up a kiosk for visitors with information on the Netherlands as a financial centre.

Finance is the most important sector in the Amsterdam Area generating approximately 20% of the region’s GDP. The financial sector here has an international focus with over 60 branches of foreign banks and more than 100 international insurance companies represented in the region.
