ILFC to open office in Amsterdam
International Lease Finance Corporation (ILFC), a wholly owned subsidiary of American International Group Inc (AIG). and one of the world’s largest airline leasers, announced on 26 January 2011 that it will open a regional office in Amsterdam later this year.

Closer to customers
ILFC President and Chief Executive Officer Henri Courpron commented, “Our business is certainly one of a global nature and our desire is to be closer to our customers so that we may be increasingly responsive in the support and strategies we offer.
The European, Middle Eastern and African markets (EMEA) are critical to ILFC’s present and future success. We intend to engage and build our business relationships in a way which is representative of the industry leader which we are.”
Importance of the EMEA
The new Amsterdam office will be established in the summer of 2011 and will complement the activities of the Los Angeles-based ILFC team. The EMEA regions include over half of the current ILFC customer base and aircraft fleet placements. These regions are important to the growth of ILFC and the leasing industry in general as airline traffic grows in the coming years.
