Duisenberg school of finance and Tinbergen Institute will join forces and together strengthen the financial research capability in the Netherlands.
The objective of the two institutions is to strengthen the financial research capacity in the Netherlands to bridge theory and practice. Together, they’re committed to attracting international top researchers to the Netherlands.
To underline their commitment, the institutions will both move to the financial heart of the Netherlands, the Zuidas in Amsterdam, in December.
"Together with Duisenberg school of finance we will offer eight PhD or research masters positions a year," says Professor Herman van Dijk, General Director of Tinbergen Institute in a press release. "By joining forces we are keen to attract top global financial researchers and invite them to the Netherlands. Furthermore we will invite high profile speakers of renowned universities such as Harvard, Wharton School of Finance and Columbia and from organisations such as IMF, ECB and the Federal Reserve Board in Washington to hold lectures on key policy themes."
Professor Dirk Schoenmaker, Dean at Duisenberg school of finance stressed that: "Duisenberg school of finance closely collaborates with financial institutions and universities. Our aim is to educate well-rounded financial professionals". This contributes to strengthening the position of the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area as a state of the art location in terms of high quality workforce.
Duisenberg school of finance was founded by the Dutch financial sector with the purpose of educating top talents to become new financial leaders. Duisenberg distinguishes itself from other universities by its financially specialised academic expertise of the highest level with a practical orientation.
Tinbergen Institute (TI) is one of Europe's top graduate schools and research institutes in economics and finance. The institute uniquely combines the best of three leading Dutch universities, Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR), University of Amsterdam (UvA) and VU University Amsterdam (VU).
