On 4 July 2011, Deutsche Bank announced that their new Dutch headquarters will be located in the Zuidoost District.
Dutch press agency ANP reports that around 830 staff will work at the new headquarters. Employees of Deutsche Bank in the Netherlands are currently dispersed amongst offices on the Herengracht in Amsterdam, Amstelveen and Amsterdam Zuidoost.
Deutsche Bank strengthened its position in the Dutch market considerably in 2010 after acquiring parts of ABN Amro.
Deutsche Bank also revealed plans for large-scale expansion in the Netherlands with the opening of thirteen new regional offices by the end of the year. The move clearly indicates the importance of the Dutch market to the bank.
However, it’s not only Deutsche Bank that are keen to increase their presence in the Netherlands, global banking group BNP Paribas also announced major expansion plans for the Netherlands earlier this year.
