The Derivatives Technology Foundation (DTF) is organising the next derivatives meeting on 7 October 2010 in Amsterdam at the historic Beurs van Berlage. This year’s theme is “transparency in derivatives.”
The DTF is organising this event in cooperation with the Financial Engineering Laboratory (FELab) of the University of Twente and with the University of Amsterdam.
Since 2000, the DTF has been working to improve scientific knowledge in derivatives and build stronger links between industry and science.
Amsterdam is one of the major financial trading centres in Europe. The city, with the Zuidas and Beursplein 5 as financial hotspots, is one of the world’s largest derivatives trading centres. International companies such as Optiver, IMC and All Options are based in the Amsterdam area, as well as most major Dutch financial institutions.
The theme of the all day symposium this year will be “transparency in derivatives trading.” The event draws prominent speakers such as Aaron Brown, author of The Poker Face of Wall Street and Henriëtte Prast, Professor of Personal Financial Planning at Tilburg University.
Among the many speakers planned for this year are Alexander Lipton, Managing Director and Head of the Global Quantitative Group at Bank of America Merrill Lynch and a Visiting Professor of Mathematics at Imperial College London. René Maatman, Member of the Board of the national Dutch financial regulator Autoriteit Financiële Markten (AFM) will also be presenting.
The audience will primarily consist of derivatives trading professionals from large trading houses and representatives of Dutch banks, pension fund managers, investment managers, graduate students and university-based researchers.
