bfinance, an independent financial services consultancy, is opening an office in Amsterdam, further expanding its international network. bfinance has eight offices with investment consulting practices in seven countries offering bespoke investment manager search and selection services covering all asset classes for clients based in 21 different counties.
The office opened in November 2010 and is headed by Frans Verhaar, Director of Business Development for the Netherlands.
The Amsterdam office will also service clients based in Belgium. bfinance’s manager search and selection services have gained significant traction in what is one of the most sophisticated global pension funds. Revenue from searches for managers in the Netherlands and Belgium already total in excess of 1 billion euros, according to the company.
Frans Verhaar said: “Our new office in Amsterdam reflects the growth in demand for our manager search and selection services from institutions wanting access to a global knowledge of managers while also working with partners who understand their local needs.” Setting up a new office in the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area is an excellent way of achieving this goal.
The Amsterdam Area is home to an extremely strong and internationally-oriented services sector, with Euronext being Europe’s largest cross-border exchange. Its service sectors also host 60 foreign bank branches and over 100 international insurance companies.
The Amsterdam Area is also home to hundreds of companies in the fields of legal, accounting, taxation, media, ICT, advertising, venture capital and shared services. All these companies have a pan European and innovative mindset and therefore facilitate European growth from a single location at competitive rates. New companies can build on this experience instead of starting from scratch.
