VimpelCom, one of the largest telecom providers in Eastern Europe, has decided to establish headquarters in Amsterdam.
The establishment of this multi-million dollar enterprise in the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area is a windfall for the booming IT industry.
Amsterdam is rapidly becoming the IT capital of Europe; 60 percent of Forbes 2000 companies operating in the ICT sector have an office in the region. This attracts new business such as VimpelCom.
VimpelCom will establish its corporate headquarters in Amsterdam South. This central business district offers an outstanding location for corporations, such as ABN Amro, Accenture, the Boston Consulting Group (BGG) and more recently, Simmons & Simmons and BinckBank.
Zuidas is easily accessed by car or public transport and is less than15 minutes away from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. It offers many services to international companies, such as the Expatcenter and the Holland Financial Centre (HFC), soon to be located in the World Trade Center (WTC) in the heart of Zuidas.
VimpelCom’s together with Kyivstar’s activities will generate from their headquarters in Amsterdam. VimpelCom is the fourth largest telecommunications operator in Russia and Kyivstar is the largest mobile operator in the Ukraine.
Out of the Amsterdam headquarters, the parent company is preparing to expand business and cooperate with a multinational mobile operator, reports the Dutch newspaper, Het Parool.
