Brit Insurance completed its corporate restructure by putting a new holding company in place. The location for the new holding company is Amsterdam.
Brit Insurance is an international general insurance and reinsurance company that provides its services in the United Kingdom. News of the restructuring was announced in a press release.
Brit Insurances’ board believes that the new Dutch holding should provide the company with a stable commercial, legal, regulatory and fiscal environment in which to operate. The choice to select Amsterdam as a location for its new holding company illustrates the attractiveness of Amsterdam as a financial centre. Many companies choose the Netherlands as a location for their holding companies because of the country's competitive tax regime.
The office of the new holding company is situated just around the corner from the Holland Financial Centre in Amsterdam's Zuidas district. The Zuidas (South Axis) is a rapidly-growing business district which offers companies an outstanding location for their offices.
Many companies have already chosen to set up shop in the area, including ABN Amro, Accenture and Boston Consultancy Group. The reasons are clear. The Zuidas is easily accessible by car or public transport and is less than 15 minutes away from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol.
