After a successful premiere in 2009, a localised and scaled down version of the influential annual TED conference is coming to Amsterdam in November. The 2010 TEDxAmsterdam, will take place on 30 November 2010 in the Stadsschouwburg in Amsterdam.
TED is an annual event where some of the world's leading thinkers and doers are invited to share what they are most passionate about. "TED" stands for Technology, Entertainment, Design – three broad subject areas that are collectively shaping our future.
TEDxAmsterdam is an independently organised TED event. At the TEDxAmsterdam event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will be combined to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group.
The unifying theme for a series of future-thinking speakers will be science and fiction. This theme should help speakers and visitors to dream of a future in ways we never thought possible. At TEDxAmsterdam, Science & Fiction is about 'open source' ideas; those that are shared, evolved and which spark new thought and innovation. TEDxAmsterdam 2010 is the nexus between idea and reality, and as ground zero for an ever-expanding matrix of thought possibilities.
