ATP Event Experts reports that the Netherlands will remain a popular venue for hosting congresses in 2011. In particular, Amsterdam comes high on the list.
ATP Event Experts based their predictions on research carried out by the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA), the global meetings industry network. Amsterdam is the 10th most popular location for hosting business conventions and in 6th place worldwide for hosting all other types of congresses.
Amsterdam is the most popular destination for international conventions within the Netherlands. According to the ICCA, the city is the most sought after location for organising a conference.
Amsterdam has excellent facilities such as the RAI where the prestigious Sibos conference took place in November 2010. Up to and including 2013, the RAI Congress Centre is fully booked, with an agenda filled with a variety of different events.
As well as being an excellent location for holding a congress, Amsterdam is also ideally suited to the international traveller. Just two highlights are the magnificent Beurs van Berlage and the Passenger Terminal Amsterdam on the IJ. The bustling centre of Amsterdam is perfect for whiling away the hours and Amsterdam Airport Schiphol is just a short journey away.
