The Boat House in Almere became an honorary part of Asia on 7 December 2010 when it hosted a Taiwanese seminar.
More than 30 CEO's from Taiwanese companies active in the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area attended the seminar and dinner. They shared experiences and knowledge about expat affairs, safety and taxes.
The seminar not only afforded an opportunity to network, but also provided attendees with useful information about how Taiwanese companies could take advantage of the Amsterdam Area’s favourable business climate.
A presentation on the Expatcenter highlighted how it offers a one-stop shop service to help relocate employees and their families and deal with relevant permits.
Fiscal advisors from Loyens & Loeff, a top-level legal and tax advice service for international businesses, financial institutions and government bodies, informed attendees about the competitive tax system in the Netherlands. Companies benefit from a competitive corporate tax rate of 25 %, no withholding tax on outgoing interest and royalty payments, double taxation relief and much more.
The seminar ended with a presentation of the book ‘The real Taiwan and the Dutch’ by former Taiwan representative Menno Goedhart. Alderman Ben Scholten from Almere received the first copy of the book and spoke about the importance of foreign companies in Almere and the Amsterdam Area.
