Amsterdam welcomes LiuGong

LiuGong, Chinese company producing construction machinery, has opened its European headquarters in Amsterdam. From Amsterdam, LuiGong intends to expand into the European construction equipment market.

Amsterdam base

Amsterdam

LiuGong Europe, a fully owned subsidiary of LiuGong Machinery Corporation, will locate in Amsterdam, close to the company's regional parts depot. The company promises to staff its offices with both European and Chinese managers. Fully staffed, the office employs 16 people; six from China, and the remainder from Europe and will house the sales and marketing divisions, engineering, logistics and importing, accounting, dealer support and dealer training, as well as executive management.

European expansion

The establishment of LiuGong Europe is part of their global expansion strategy, which they have actively pursued over the past five years. The Amsterdam Metropolitan Area lends itself well for penetration into the European market.

The Amsterdam Area is strategically located in the heart of one of the world's highest concentrations of nearly 2,000 prospective, internationally operating companies. The region is an attractive test market and stepping stone into the largest market in the world, with a population of 500 million.

Excellent infrastructure

The Amsterdam Area is noted for its excellent infrastructure: within a 50 km radius are major port complexes. In addition, the region offers international rail links, and close proximity to Amsterdam Airport Schiphol.

Competitive fiscal climate

The Amsterdam Area offers a competitive fiscal climate. The Netherlands has the lowest corporate income tax rate (25,5%) compared to Germany, Belgium and the UK, and offers 0% taxes on interest and royalties, making it the most competitive location. For taxes on dividends, the UK at (0%) is more attractive than the Netherlands (5%), Belgium (5%) and Germany (10%), according to a competitiveness benchmark for head office activities, done by Ernst & Young International Location Advisory Services.
