Bollywood media and entertainment professionals from Mumbai, India, meet with Amsterdam Metropolitan Area’s creative hub to encourage mutual cooperation.
On 12 October 2010, media and entertainment professionals from India visited the Amsterdam Area’s media companies, such as IDTV (Integrated Digital Television) and MassiveMusic (producing music and sound for moving pictures.
They also toured DutchView studios (a tapeless broadcasting company) and ended the day with an opportunity to network with Amsterdam’s creative industry over a delicious Indian buffet.
The day was organised by amsterdam inbusiness to encourage reciprocal cooperation between creative industries in Amsterdam and Mumbai, India, and acquaint the delegation with Amsterdam’s creative hub. Amsterdam inbusiness provided information on financial advantages and practical aspects of doing business in the Netherlands, as it related to the media and entertainment industry (TV, Film, Internet, Gaming, Animation).
Amsterdam is the heart of the Dutch creative industry; nearby Hilversum serves as the centre for national broadcasting. AMS-IX (Amsterdam Internet Exchange), the largest Internet exchange in the world, provides excellent international fiber-optic connections (as of 12 July 2010, AMS-IX connected 355 members on 638 ports).
Most of the media industry in the Netherlands, traditionally made up of print, television, radio, internet, film and gaming, is concentrated in the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area. These sectors are rapidly converging into one digital cross-media industry, in part due to the presence of supporting partners.
The Amsterdam Area hosts a wide variety of partners in account management, screen and script play development, pre-production, production and post-production. The Amsterdam Area provides state-of-the-art infrastructure for the TV industry, from producers to facilities and suppliers. The same applies to digital photo labs.
