Many Chinese companies have already found their way to the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area. To share some of the things the area has to offer Chinese companies, amsterdam inbusiness organised a press trip to Amsterdam in consultation and with the support of the Amsterdam Tourism and Convention Board and Amsterdam Partners.
Business Travel Magazine, together with two leading Chinese economic newspapers, the China Business News and 21st Century Economic Herald, travelled to Amsterdam for the press trip. Business Travel Magazine defined the main theme of the visit as “Amsterdam Smart City.”
During the visit, Chinese members of the press discovered some of the unique benefits Amsterdam has to offer Chinese companies.
The Chinese press published many positive articles about Amsterdam as a result of their visit. Some advantages for Chinese companies touched upon were the Competitive tax regime. Companies established in the Netherlands profit from various tax advantages such as a competitive corporate tax rate of 25%, absence of a withholding tax on outgoing interest and royalty payments and double taxation relief, to name a few.
The Chinese media coverage praised the excellent convention facilities the Amsterdam Area has to offer. Business Travel Magazine covered sustainability issues of the Amsterdam RAI Convention Centre, whose aim it is to become the greenest, not the biggest convention centre in Europe.
Amsterdam convention facilities are outstanding. Amsterdam organised a record number of international conventions in 2009, placing it number eight in the World ranking of international convention cities from the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA).
Amsterdam inbusiness launched a Chinese language website in appreciation of Chinese companies settled in the Amsterdam Area. The website informs Chinese companies of the advantages of setting up business in the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area.
