Haarlemmermeer municipality and the independent property developer, OVG, have signed a land purchase agreement for the development of 6,000 square metres of office space for Schneider Electric on the Beukenhorst-Zuid site in Hoofddorp.
Schneider Electric will take possession of the building in 2012. This is the third building that is part of a sustainable plan that OVG is developing here. The first building to be completed at Beukenhorst-Zuid will be the TNT GREEN office.
The second building for ASICS Europe is expected to be completed at the end of 2011. The quality of the Beukenhorst-Zuid area development is attracting a great deal of interest.
Peter Uelen, General Director of Schneider Electric Netherlands, states that, “Schneider Electric not only delivers energy-efficient solutions, we also want to set an example in this field. Worldwide, the construction industry is responsible for 40% of CO2 emissions. It is therefore our responsibility to demonstrate how other organisations can use smart solutions to make considerable energy savings. Together with OVG, we are able to demonstrate with our own office that the energy-efficiency investments can be recovered within a short time.”
Alderman for Economic Affairs, Arthur van Dijk says, “We are proud that Schneider Electric has chosen Beukenhorst-Zuid. Yet another excellent brand that has chosen the sustainable office park in Haarlemmermeer.”
Beukenhorst-Zuid is within walking distance of Hoofddorp train station and is also easily accessible by car. In fact, Beukenhorst-Zuid is destined to be the most sustainable full-service business park in the Netherlands as it unfolds over the coming years.
The building of more than 6,000 square meters of office space will be situated on Taurusavenue, offering views of the Geniedijk, a UNESCO world heritage site.
