The Middle East and Africa, Asia/the Pacific, Latin America, Europe and North America are all represented in the MasterCard Worldwide Index of Global Destination Cities. Most of the cities indexed show an increase in international visitors but some increases are more substantial.
Compared to other European cities, Amsterdam’s growth in international visitors from 2010 to 2011 was 10.7%, while Paris and London grew at rates of 7.2% and 5.7 % respectively.
The increase in popularity of Amsterdam with international travellers is also reflected in the growth rate of expenditures of these visitors to the city.
