All you need to know about King's Day
King's Day (previously known as Queen's Day, prior to the inauguration of King Willem-Alexander) is renowned for being one of the biggest and most colourful festivities in the Netherlands, and especially so in Amsterdam.
The official date for King's Day (Koningsdag) is 27 April (the king's birthday) but as the event is traditionally not celebrated on a Sunday, the first King's Day will be on Saturday, 26 April 2014.
