Financing

People get satisfaction from starting their own businesses: being their own boss, assuming responsibility, and consciously choosing to take certain risks. ABN AMRO provides financial arrangements to help you reach success on both a commercial and a personal level.

Responsibilities for Entrepreneurs
Self-employment places heavy demands on the entrepreneur. In addition to taking care of business, there are numerous other matters to consider such as finances, accounts, taxes, personnel, etc. Procurement and, above all, generate sales must be taken into consideration. Assessment of opportunities and threats requires a fair degree of organisational and improvisational skills. But while responsibility weighs on the shoulder of the entrepreneur, you don’t have to handle everything on your own. The Chamber of Commerce can offer you the support you need to start your own business.

Financial Arrangements
But what about your financial arrangements? The bank is the best place for arranging banking and insurance administration. Consider the following:

  • Payments: Ensuring a proper payment scheme is very important for your business. Payments can be administered via giro payment slips, direct debits or Internet Banking, depending on what best suits your business. Cash payments can be administered by using a terminal for PIN or Chip payments. Payments can also be simplified with a company card, a sealed bag contract for cash deposits or one of the various options for international transactions.
  • Setting money aside: Large or small amounts that are not immediately needed in the near term can be set aside into funds from a business savings account. In any event, funds should always be set aside for such items as tax payments.
  • Risks: Entrepreneurs run personal as well as business-related risks. Effectively handling these risks is not only necessary for the continuity of your business, but also provides personal protection. Insurance is indeed available against many commercial and personal risks.
  • Asset management: Financial issues relate not only to your business, but also to your private capital. Asset management is extremely important in order to secure the continuity of your personal income.
  • Leasing: If you need a car, a lease arrangement offers a very attractive financing option during a start-up phase.
  • Financing: Starting up a business often requires more money than what is available from personal funds. Situations demanding extra financial scope are always presenting themselves. Financing requirements for a new business often exceed the available equity and collateral. But there are other options. A guaranteed loan (partially guaranteed by the government) may be an appropriate solution. Another option is to receive investments from informal investors, successful veteran or current entrepreneurs.
  • Franchise: Do you plan to start a business as part of a particular franchise formula? Appropriate banking products are available for this too.
