The Dylan Amsterdam is the most stylish and intimate hotel of Amsterdam. The Dylan has 40 individually decorated rooms and suites. The awarded restaurant of The Dylan is the place to be for an exclusive and intimate dinner and Bar Barbou is very popular for a cocktail or a good glass of wine. The three beautiful state-of-the-art meeting rooms are ideally suited for a business meeting or a festive dinner. The Dylan is 'the place to be' for those who want to impress their guests.

History
The Dylan opened her doors in 1999, but the site is in use since long ago. In 1612, Doctor Samuel Coster founded a theatre called "De Duytsche Academie" which was founded to broaden science. In 1637, the building was rebuild in stone, by the famous Architect Jacob Van Campen en it was officially the first theatre in Amsterdam. To placate the church authorities who disapproved of the immoral character of the theatre, it was then decided to donate most of the receipts to the city's orphanages. Antonio Vivaldi himself conducted the theatre orchestra at the time of the 100th anniversary in 1737. Celebrity visitors included the Prince of Orange, the King of Poland, the Tsar of Russia, the Elector of Brandenburg and Cosimo di Medici. May, 11th 1772 was a black day in the theatre's history. The complex burned down completely. The site was sold in 1773 to the Regents of the Roman Catholic Old and Poor People's Office, which was the most important Catholic charity in those days. This Foundation was to remain the owner of the complex until 1998.

Today
Due to this incredible history, The Dylan Amsterdam is one of the most special hotels of Amsterdam. These days, the hotel is visited by many celebrities, but is also very popular among the young and stylish locals, who want to drink a cocktail in the popular Bar Barbou or have an exclusive dinner in the awarded restaurant. For meetings and private dinners, The Dylan is a most wanted location. The rooms are all incredible designed, combining historical aspects with modern technologies, and the amazing personal service guarantees an experience you will never forget.
